Ellen Barry exited the $25,000 ITF Tournament in Sorrento, Western Australia at semi finals stage on Saturday 22 March, but held her head high with more fine performances - all of which should contribute to her anticipated surge up the rankings.
She lost in three sets to second seed Melanie South from the UK, 3-6 7-5 6-3. South is currently ranked 176 in the world. South will go on to face 5th seed, Australian Christina Wheeler in the finals.
In the quarter finals at Sorrento, Ellen won a tough match against Yi-Miao Zhou from China, the player who had beaten her the week before in the finals at another tournament in Kalgoorlie. The score in the Sorrento revenge match match was 7-6(4) 5-7 7-6(5), this time in favour of the Kiwi!
